Just before Halloween, Park Circus (UK) contacted me to redesign the poster for Bram Stoker's Dracula, Francis Ford Coppola's iconic 1992 film, for its return to cinemas 30 years later, after its 4K restore. Needless to say, I was excited but also anxious to rework such an iconic piece of graphic design. I approached the project with the aim of making the original, very baroque, artwork look lighter and more contemporary, still paying tribute to its original.

The new poster has received rave reviews from the public and press, such as this one from Kurt Halfyard for ScreenAnarchy: "The key art image is minimal and clean, with sophisticated lighting. Light is of course a major contributor to any vampire film. (...) Kudos in this re-release poster for them resisting the desire to put little boxes of heads in the bottom".

The creative process followed 3 different directions that I discussed with the Park Circus marketing team. They were immediately interested in the idea of playing with light and the concept of hiding something, using a central image from the film where Vlad Dracul hides his face from the light with his aged hands.
