International poster for Milk Teeth, directed by Mihai Mincan and produced by deFilm, with its world premiere at the Biennale di Venezia and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
For this project, my design approach sought to reflect the emotional weight and the dark atmosphere of the narrative. The composition focuses on Maria, the protagonist, portrayed from behind and in isolation, conveying both vulnerability and mystery. The sober, classic typography contrasts with the emotional intensity of the image, reinforcing the sense of silence, emptiness, and unease.
Set in Romania in 1989, during the final days of Ceaușescu’s dictatorship, Milk Teeth follows Maria, a ten-year-old girl who is the last to witness her sister’s disappearance before her eyes. Shattered by the loss, she struggles to make sense of a new and terrifying reality.
