Separated by bars, but never entirely apart – Key art for Memories of Prison (Memórias do Cárcere), a film by Sérgio Graciano.
Camilo Castelo Branco and Ana Plácido were both imprisoned at the Cadeia da Relação do Porto. For the poster, I wanted the architecture of the prison to become part of their relationship, dividing the image and separating the two figures, while still allowing Ana’s presence to reach Camilo as he writes.
A story of imprisonment, writing and love, but also of the lives and stories encountered behind those walls.
