Poster for the film Gabin, a film by Maxence Voiseux. Selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
In the north of France, Gabin, the youngest of the Jourdel family, is destined to take over his father’s butcher shop. Torn between family loyalty and the desire to escape, he has other dreams: training a prize cow, becoming a dog breeder, and saving his mother’s farm from bankruptcy. Gabin immerses us in the life of this young boy, from the age of 8 to 18.
